The ride starts from the church gates in Sedbergh. Car parking is on the approach road to the town if coming from Kirkby Steven and on the loop road by the school playing fields if coming from the M6.
The start time is 10am and the route covers the south and north sides of the Lune Valley. The coffee stop is at Wray (20 miles). we cross the Lune at Catonand ride back on the north side of the valley for a late lunch at Kirkby Lonsdale.
The total distance is about 55 miles. If road surfaces are bad because of overnight frost we will ride mainly on bus routes which are normally the first roads to be salted or cross the road from the start in Sedbergh and have a pre-ride coffee.
